Roofing Lead Delivery

We aim to make roofing lead delivery as clear and straightforward as possible. Whether you are ordering rolled lead sheet, fixings, patination oil, accessories or a larger multi-roll consignment, this page explains our delivery service levels, timescales, handling expectations and charges.

Lead is a specialist roofing product. It is heavy, valuable and often ordered for time-sensitive works, so delivery planning matters. The guidance below is designed to help you understand how lead sheet delivery works before you order.

Lead sheet delivery service levels

Because rolled lead delivery can involve heavy parcels, palletised consignments or made-to-order items, service levels vary depending on the product type, order size and fulfilment route. Most orders fall into one of the categories below.

Service level Estimated delivery time Description
Standard Service 4–7 working days Typical delivery window for most rolled lead sheet, lead flashing accessories and stock items fulfilled from warehouse or regional supply partners.
Extended Service Up to 10 working days Used for bulk, bespoke or cut-related orders, including larger lead sheet consignments requiring extra preparation, pallet wrapping or carrier planning.

All delivery times are estimates and begin once your order has been processed and confirmed. Lead times may vary depending on stock availability, production schedules, delivery postcode and order composition.

Delivery charges for roofing lead

Delivery is chargeable for orders fulfilled directly by us because lead products require specialist handling, secure packaging and weight-based transport planning. Charges are calculated at checkout according to order weight, product type and delivery postcode.

  • Orders under 20kg usually travel on a small parcel service.
  • Orders over 20kg usually move as heavy goods or enhanced courier consignments.
  • Orders above 100kg are commonly palletised or allocated to a dedicated carrier.
Trade customers may be able to arrange consolidated deliveries or site drops for larger ongoing works.

What affects lead delivery times?

Delivery times for roofing lead are influenced by more than courier speed alone. Lead is not a lightweight off-the-shelf item in the same way as standard merchant products.

  • Order weight and packaging requirements
  • Single-roll versus multi-roll or pallet quantities
  • Cut, bespoke or less common product configurations
  • Regional postcode and site access considerations
  • Split fulfilment from distribution partners

Fulfilment partners and split consignments

Some products may be shipped directly from trusted UK manufacturing or distribution partners. This allows us to support a wider range of lead sheet sizes, accessories and specialist items while keeping service levels clear.

Where an order contains multiple product types, items may occasionally arrive in separate consignments. This does not necessarily indicate a problem with the order — it simply reflects the most suitable fulfilment route for each line item.

If tracking is available, dispatch information will be provided once the relevant goods have been released for delivery.

Specialist roofing products need specialist handling

Lead sheet, flashings and associated materials are not standard lightweight parcels. Their value, density and handling requirements mean delivery needs to be planned properly, especially where larger orders, site access or specific timeframes are involved.

If you are still deciding what to buy before arranging dispatch, our shoppable lead chart, rolled lead sheet category, ALM Lead guide and Lead Handbook can help you choose the correct products before delivery is arranged.
